| Checked Baggage Allowance |
Passengers traveling to/from Canada and within the Mainland U.S., including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or U.S. Virgin Islands are allowed 2 checked bags per passenger, but with the following requirements:
• Weighing not more than 50lbs/23 kg
• Not exceeding 62 linear inches/157cm (length + width + height)
However, if you are an OnePass Elite Member traveling in Economy Class, you enjoy an excess baggage allowance of up to 70 pounds/32 kg. Besides, First or BusinessFirst passengers can carry an additional bag, with the maximum weight permissible for any bag being 70 pounds/32 kg. |
| Excess Baggage Rules |
If your baggage exceeds Continental Airlines’ limits of free baggage allowance, you’re required to pay additional fee based on quantity, weight and size. For bags weighing 51-70 lb, you’ll be charged an additional amount of $25 and for bags between 70- 100 lb, the fee is $50. For every bag over 63 inches, you’re required to pay an additional amount of $80. The rates for additional pieces of baggage are- $80 each for 1-3 pieces, $105 each for 4-6 pieces and $180 each for over 7 pieces. Bags weighing over 100 lbs are not accepted. |

Articles Lost on-board: Articles that were left on-board a Continental aircraft may be reported to the Continental Airlines Baggage Resolution Center at its 24/7 toll-free number: 1.800.335.BAGS (1.800.335.2247) prompt 1. If the toll-free number is not available in your area, please call 1.281.821.3526 prompt 1.
You may also report your loss to a Continental Baggage Services representative at any airport served by Continental Airlines. |
| Sports Equipment |
Continental accepts one item of archery equipment per customer in lieu of one piece of free baggage. Besides, a non-motorized bicycle with single seat or up to two non-motorized bicycles packed in one case is accepted as a checked baggage. You can also carry one Boogie/Skim/Speed board or one board bag containing up to two boards per customer in lieu of one piece of free baggage.
