| Checked Baggage Allowance |
The following are the checked baggage rules depending on the Weight and the Piece systems-
Weight System:
Cloud Nine passengers are allowed to check up to 30kg of baggage
Economy Class passengers can check up to 20kg of baggage
Infants not occupying a seat are entitled to 10kg of free baggage, plus one fully collapsible stroller/push chair
Piece System (applicable for travel to/from the US and Canada):
Cloud Nine passengers can check 2 pieces of baggage (3 pieces on Ethiopian route), each weighing not more than 50lb/23kg and not exceeding the total linear dimension of 62 linear inches/115cm (l + w + h)
Economy Class passengers can 2 pieces of baggage, each weighing not more than 50lb/23kg and not exceeding the total linear dimension of 62 linear inches/115cm
(l + w + h)
Infants not occupying a seat are entitled to 1 piece of checked baggage within the total linear dimension of 62 linear inches/115cm (l + w + h). In addition, one fully collapsible stroller/push chair is also allowed. |
| Excess Baggage Rules |
Additional charges apply for baggage exceeding the limits of free allowance.
Under the weight system, excess weight charges at the rate of 1.5% of the one-way economy class fare per kilogram will apply.
On routes where the piece system applies, each piece of baggage above the free baggage allowance will be charged $135. |

Please report any delayed, damaged or lost baggage to Ethiopian Airlines ground staff at the destination airport immediately after arrival. |
