Passengers can carry on 1 piece of baggage, plus one personal item like an overcoat/wrap/blanket, umbrella/walking stick, ladies handbag/pocket book/briefcase, infant food, laptop computer or any similar item. Your carry on baggage must not exceed the total dimension of 115 cm (l + w + h). |
| Checked Baggage Allowance |
The following checked baggage rules apply based on your route, class of service and the type of aircraft:
On Domestic flights-
Executive Class- passengers are allowed to check up to 40 kg of baggage
Economy Class- passengers are allowed to check up to 30 kg of baggage
On Dornier Do-228 aircraft, Economy Class passengers are restricted to 10 kg of baggage
On ATR-42-320 aircraft, Economy Class passengers are restricted to 15 kg of baggage
Infants are entitled to a free baggage allowance of 10 kg
On International flights
Business Class- passengers can check up to 30 kg of baggage
Economy Class- passengers can check up to 20 kg of baggage
For travel to/from the US and Canada-
Executive Class- passengers can check 2 pieces of baggage, each weighing not more than 32 kg and not exceeding the total dimension of 62 linear inches/158 cm
Economy Class- passengers can check 2 pieces of baggage, each weighing not more than 32 kg and not exceeding the total dimension of 62 linear inches/158 cm. Also, the overall dimensions of the two pieces measured together must not exceed 106 linear inches/270 cm
Infants are entitled to 1 piece of baggage not exceeding the dimension of 45 linear inches/115cm, plus one collapsible stroller or a push-chair or an infant's carrying basket or infant's car-seat. |

Delayed/lost/damaged

Please report any delayed, damaged or lost baggage to Indian Airlines ground staff at the destination airport immediately after arrival. |
| Sports Equipment |
The following sports equipment can be carried in lieu of your free checked baggage allowance provided the linear dimension of the article does not exceed 140 cm:
Golf gear
One bicycle (single seat, touring or race bicycle, non-motorized, provided the handle-bars are fixed sideways and pedals removed)
Portable musical instrument not exceeding 45 linear inches/115 cm |
